The Gateway Story

The company was founded in 1989 by Daniel G. Aiken, Esq. in Lincoln, Maine. Dan remains as owner and President today. He received his law degree from Suffolk University in 1972. Prior to starting Gateway Title, Dan’s law practice focused on real estate law and real estate transactions.

Vice President, Kortney A. Theriault, joined the firm in 2000. Over the years, she has worked in every
area of the company and is uniquely qualified to oversee all operations. Kortney’s warm, friendly management style helps to promote the family culture that exists in the company today.

Dan, Kortney and John are backed up by 21 expert paralegals, title examiners and closers who
assist in resolving complicated title issues such that the end result is an enjoyable and smooth real estate transaction. In all, the company’s personnel have over 200 years experience in title abstracting, escrow services, title insurance and real estate law.
